Spanish Castles, is a solo music project by contemporary artist, Kirk Nilsen. A modern fusion of medieval & traditional Spanish / Portuguese and broader mediterranean folk music, crossed with classical guitar, flamenco, rumba, gypsy, Arabic, baroque, gothic, folk punk & various Latin and Brazilian influences as well as a slight hint of black metal.
Born of Portuguese ancestors from Região Autónoma dos Açores, and Norwegian immigrants from Larvik - raised in cities of the north, longing for a return to an ancient world from places and times which no longer exist.
